Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item are improved through upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment provides an increase in linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the power of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by a variety of methods through the use of upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. Many items can also be reforged to boost their stats.

The upper-right corner displays the number of upgrade components needed for a particular item. The price of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can lower this cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor, or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded using a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia, or a rune. Many can be upgraded with a suffix Upgrade Item. These upgrades alter the name of the item to add an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any kinds of mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They move to catch the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language, making them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph has a set of values that it could enhance a stat according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This isn't the exact amount at which the glyph will increase a stat, but the maximum value by which it can do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the product you are in awe of it.

The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

If you wish to remove the glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be retrieved by removing the glyph fragments.

A glyph added to an item can cause it to become unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you remove the item. Reroll tokens

The system of rerolls has been criticised by players as being too expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it with money or a food item that allows players to modify their builds without a lot of time and energy. The developers do not plan to introduce paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to include an ability to change races in the near future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to level up an upgrade for an item. The first way to level up an item upgrade is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second option is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which can increase the damage or healing of a stat. Finally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. Depending on the item's base level and upgrade route, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change too. For example, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or exclusive item upgrader kit to a rare or exceptional item will be able to get the Enhanced Defense of the new base type of item upgrading.
